Vegas Baby...

EDIT - To see a few of the images from this trip click HERE

So I'm off to Vegas tomorrow for an advertising assignment for Kicker! The schedule is pretty tight, and I'll be shooting a handful of professional extreme sport athletes for an upcoming marketing campaign. I'm really pumped... and just finished packing some gear to take out, so I thought I'd grab a shot of it for those of you interested in what I'm using. Wow... I really suck with a point-and-shoot, but you can get the point ;-):

The shoot involves both indoor and outdoor locations, so I am bringing along some portable power. Here's the list:

  • Canon EOS 1Ds Mark III
  • Canon EOS 5D
  • Canon 24-70mm f/2.8 L
  • Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS
  • Canon 50mm f/1.4
  • 580 EX Speedlight
  • 580 EX II Speedlight
  • 2 Calumet Travelite 750's
  • Quantum Q Flash T-5D
  • Quantum Turbo pack
  • Calumet Travel-Pak
  • 3 Pocketwizards
  • Sekonic L-358
  • Reflector, lightstands, tripod, umbrella, and 2 softboxes

Wish me luck!

  • What bags do you use to pack your gear

  • Hey Mark... I have 3 bags I usually take. I pack my lights and battery packs in a Pelican 1650 hard-case (seen in the picture), cameras, lenses, and flashes in a Crumpler "7 Million Dollar Home", and all my lightstands, tripod, and light modifiers in a standard lightstand bag.
